IGenSpectrum hosts a talk by an openly LGBT scientist each semester. We discuss challenges faced by LGBT scientists and students, and ways to overcome them to lead a successful career in academia and beyond.
The following people have given talks to IGenSpectrum
- Fall 2014: Dr. Vivienne Ming, UC Berkeley and Socos
- Sprint 2013: Professor Robert Carpick, University of Pennsylvania
The IGenSpectrum Summer Research Supplement gives LGBT and allied undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about each others’ research, participate in a journal club, and discuss issues that they are facing both as undergraduate students and as members of the LGBT community.
